My goal for each piece I create is to capture the vibrant imagery and movement in the abstract and contemporary form. It becomes the color therapy needed for creative and artistic expression.
As a human being l am committed to a world that works for plants, animals and people. In my paintings animals move freely in beautiful, lush settings emanating the luminosity of life. Untouched.
My work often deals within the abstract of the human body and mind as well as organisms in nature and how each system is created and intertwined with resilient but delicate parts.
The purpose of my photography is to share the natural beauty of this world. All photographs are infused into high-grade aluminum, bringing a vibrant look with a modern design that expresses structures in elegant ways.
The subject of this piece represents the uniqueness of cultural identity and a contributor to awareness of diversity as an enhancement to our sense of individuality and collective identity.
The purpose and inspiration for my work is to create a series of watercolor paintings of landscapes using numerous techniques. My love of landscapes reveals emotion, drama and invites the viewer into my umbrella of color.
My morning ritual begins with lighting a candle and “losing my mind” by sitting quietly and gazing into the glow. This series is inspired by this gentle entrance into the day.
In my bold, vibrant palette, my work invites you to look for meaning beyond color. In my art, I intend to convey the core value of the spirit of nature, my inspiration through the beauty found in each context, and the appreciation of the noble values of life.
My artwork is best viewed as colorful aerial maps—a bird’s eye view of my internal creative explorations, scanning the tracts of landscape below and the unfathomable ocean of sky above.
My art has no deep meaning or interpretation. I paint for the sheer joy of creating, and the goal is to bring a smile to the viewer. It’s about colors that sing and critters with whimsical personality.
To me, art-making is sacred work. My mixed-media art is a way of sending blessings into a world in need of unconditional love. Every painting is a prayer that comes with a message or story.
Bold expressive marks are my voice. My process begins with abstract marks. As I finish I focus the painting. My floral paintings are a great showcase for my love of color and movement.
I believe that art, like literature, should be a form of escape from an ugly world. I like to evoke a pleasant emotion through my art, such as a feeling of calm or a happy memory. Much of my art is based on my travels.
Painting is an intuitive process that frees my spirit. Often with references to the natural world, colorful markings evolve and develop. Joyful energy, the movement of layered color, texture and form excite me.
In my artwork I endeavor to depict my subject accurately and with a breath of life. I strive for outstanding technical skills coupled with an interesting composition to invite the viewer into each new piece.
Inspired by water, structures and nature, I use images that to me have a strong connection, memory or feeling. I layer, mark and abstract the original image or idea retaining the mood, feel and light.
I am inspired by brilliant colour and striking contrast, by the sensual curves of the female body and the faultless lines of geometry; achieving beautiful unyielding saturation and impeccable print-like quality with acrylic paint.
This oil painting is part of a nocturnal series that I am creating. I used soft blue and purple tones against cool turquoise. The composition is memory-based. Here I was imagining last summer in Glacier National Park camping.
Through my paintings of small town mountain life, I honor the people who live and work in the California foothills. I find this heady area, which I call home, a painter’s heaven.
I use vibrant colors to represent unexpected combinations of human and nature’s shapes. I strive to attain a combination of pattern and line that keeps the viewer’s eye engaged.
I endeavor to create artworks that are visually engaging and thought-provoking through beautiful paintwork and meditative threadwork. Investigations into the uninhibited self and the esoteric self are always at the forefront of my process.
My art is an abstract expression of the world around me. I capture the sights and emotions by layering acrylic paints and mediums. Each piece has a story that unfolds through symbols, color and texture.
Turner is a great inspiration. He said “Light is therefore color.” This describes the sunlight illuminating the waves at sunset. My work illustrates the pre-eminence of Nature. Just ask Captain Ahab.
