I am an artist currently based in Florida. I grew up abroad in Central America. Growing up was a challenge and adaptation was crucial. This life experience has been my main motivation to undertake the search for the realization of the dreams and goals that I have outlined. I had the good fortune to be mentored by a renowned artist who enriched my artistic vision. Prior to that, I received my formal education in fine arts and education.

 

 

My artwork has received numerous awards and I’ve had the opportunity to exhibit in various venues. Growing up surrounded by different cultures has broadened my overall view of life. I am continuously pursuing success in personal, professional and artistic endeavors as well as in the artistic experience itself.

 

 

I consider myself a multi-disciplinary artist as I enjoy working in different mediums such as painting, illustration and ceramics.

 

 

As far as painting is concerned, I rarely work with oils, preferring to work with acrylics. Lately I have been working alternately in painting and illustrations.

 

 

My illustrations have been overwhelmingly well received and grace the covers of children’s books and other books. For my illustrations, I use markers and acrylics on paper. I enjoy using a free-form style as well as other techniques when working with ceramics. Having the opportunity to explore different techniques is very exciting.

 

 

My paintings and illustrations are characterized by a vibrant palette and contrasting light and shadow. My ceramics are composed of several forms that seek to personify the human figure as the feminine gender.

 

 

My work invites the audience to look for meaning and significance beyond color and forms. The themes are the central value of the spirit of nature, and the human experience. My inspiration comes from appreciating the beauty found in each context.

 

 

My art work explores aspects of our natural world and human experience. I intend to discover the inner beauty of things and the complexities of life, the natural environment that represents life, the water that nourishes the earth with fertility, knowledge and the evolution of life. I am a believer in the mission and vision of preserving natural resources, with the hope that my art creates awareness towards nature and life.

 

 

I identify with the female gender, and I seek to show women surrounded by natural resources, such as an array of bird species. The birds are very representative in my work. I feel that they represent freedom and they rise as a metaphor to achieving aspirations and objectives. The forms in my work represent stages of transformation, encompass traditions, beliefs and cultural identity. The importance of cultural heritage makes our lives great and celebrating it is a gift.

 

 

Art has enriched my life, my purpose and motivation in life. It has allowed me to express myself in ways I had never thought of. It has allowed me to expand my socio-historical and cultural reality beyond its parameters. I am blessed by having a family that supports my artistic endeavors and the guidance of my Heavenly Father God.
