From a very young age I have always loved to create beauty. During the school holidays my mother would buy large packs of colouring in books and a variety of crafts to keep me entertained.
Although I have tried many different occupations, from secretarial work to a pizza cook, art has always been my passion. After studying fine art and calligraphic design, I eventually worked as a ticket writer.
After taking a break from art to raise my children I began to paint once again. Directed by a friend to join a website called Colour in your Life, I posted some images of my work online.
After a couple of months, I was contacted by Graeme Stevenson and asked to be one of ten artists he had selected to exhibit with him at the 2012 Sydney Art Expo.
In 2016, Graeme finally convinced me to appear in Season 13, Episode 4, of his television show, “Put some Colour in Your Life.”
I now display work with local art societies, hold open studios with fellow artists, teach mixed media at a local college and sell a variety of products made from my images.
Being both a keen traveler and photographer, my work is created from my original photographs.
Combining several different mediums including acrylic, pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, collage, tissue paper, sand, string, eggshell and even paper bark, I build up the different layers to create a beautiful, vibrant and textured picture.
Inspired by Impressionists such as Monet, Renoir, Seurat and Degas as well as Surrealist artist Salvador Dali, I use a series of dots and design, exaggerating colour to produce work that is both intricate and pleasing to the eye.
I consider myself very lucky to live in a beautiful and colourful country such as Australia with its diverse and glorious wildlife. My goal is to interpret the amazing flora and fauna of this country with my individual style and share it with the rest of the world.
