I grew up with a passion to paint and I’ve painted since I was six years old. My whole life has been saturated with learning, practicing, college, eighty one-woman shows, four publishers, authoring two books, teaching workshops and many awards.
I still love this lifelong profession, mostly because there is always more to learn and experience on this visual journey of beauty.
I delight in continually looking towards this beauty in lighting, colors , values, contrasts and shapes through my many travels to Europe and the United States.
One of my favorite quotes is by Robert Henri, “A photo is what it is and a painting is what I want it to be.”
Hawthorne said once, “If it’s orange, paint it twice as orange!”
I thank God that I learned the basics of composition (design and life drawing) in college before I started painting professionally. It’s very difficult to learn these basics today except through individual art workshops—not so much in universities.
When I first started out, I was learning the “hows” of painting. Now, seventy years later, I concentrate on the “whys.” I believe that art should communicate to and uplift the viewer.
Our eyes are windows to our souls. Beauty in art keeps our souls healthy. Beauty in art restores us back to our connection to our Redeemer and Creator.
I take artistic license to exaggerate what I love.
So, in loving the process of painting I have grown to learn that art is so much more than something you simply hang on the wall. It opens revelations, creates breakthrough with hope, heals, worships and brings joy.

Great feature, on an artist painting what she loves, and God’s love in what she paints. Thank you for this.
I love your paintings. Many blessings to you, the beauty you share, and your deLIGHTful wisdom.
