I picked up my first camera when I was eighteen years old, and I never put it down.
I’ve had no formal training and began by just taking snapshots of people and scenery. In 1982 I met my wife and moved to Canada, where I became part of the Professional Photographers of Ontario organization.
I started my own photography business in 1993, focusing on wedding photography and portraits. I have photos that are accredited with both the Professional Photographers of Ontario organization and level of License Professional Photographers of Ontario.
In more recent years, I have transitioned my focus to taking photographs of landscapes and fine art photography.
I don’t know why I was drawn to pick up a camera forty-six years ago, but I haven’t put it down. I fell in love with capturing moments.
I’m inspired to express myself through photography by seeing the pure joy my subjects, friends and family show when they view my creations. The enjoyment I feel while capturing the mood of the person, place or thing I am photographing is like none other.
When taking photographs, I enjoy playing with the lighting. I will use natural as well as artificial light to create shadows and bright spots within the photographs.
On a few occasions I will use Photoshop to enhance photos so that they match the vision of what I have in my mind.
My goal since opening my own business has always been to make my passion my only profession. Ultimately I would love to be able to work for myself, creating images that inspire, entertain and get people thinking.
I often see beauty in the small moments in life and in many places I go. I would love to be recognized for capturing and sharing these moments with others. Being able to share my love for these snapshots in time is truly my passion.
