I was born in Montreal, Canada and as a child, I always dreamed of creating.
I was fortunate enough to grow up in a world surrounded by arts. I started drawing when I was very young and I explored different forms of artistic expression in visual arts.
I studied graphic design and worked in this profession for fifteen years. It gave me the opportunity to develop my creative sense, and to stay in the art world. I really enjoyed most of those years working in this industry and learned a lot about design and organization, but I needed more freedom, and wanted to express myself without constraint, creating from my inner spirit.
I had the opportunity to attend Impressionist painting workshops in Canada and in Paris, France. After this journey, I became aware of the deep need to express myself with oil painting.
Every painting is a journey of discovery. My aim is to communicate the emotion of the moment.
Throughout my life, I have always been inspired by the beauty of nature. Nature speaks to me with serenity. She invites me to find peace and contemplate the wonder of this world in which we live.
I also seek to convey the fragility of the environment while expressing its immensity.
I paint contemporary semi-abstract landscapes inspired by my journey and my travels. My works are an interpretation of my inner gaze, like a pictorial dream. I like to convey a serene atmosphere to create enigmatic vistas.
I paint in oils and occasionally incorporate India ink which I apply with a spatula in layered layers. My technique creates vaporous effects where I let abstraction and figuration rub shoulders. I play with the light, the contrast and the dynamism of the colors.
This allows me, with hindsight from the easel, to see what needs to be revealed.
