I’m an artist and illustrator living in Graz, Austria. Like many artists, I started my journey at a very young age as I have been drawing and painting since I was a small child.
This early interest in art led me to study art at HTBLA Ortwein Graz, where I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design.
Afterwards, I studied Art History, which was very interesting, but I soon realized that my true passion was in being creative and creating things myself. It took me a while to figure out which way to go, but in the end, I decided to work as an illustrator.
From 2012 to 2019 I created illustrations, mainly for fantasy books and games. In 2019, I began to change my style and focus more on my fine art career.
I started out by working digitally only. Now, I work both digitally and traditionally. The materials I use can be divided into two groups—digital art, using Photoshop and a drawing tablet, and ink drawings, using pen and paper as the medium.
I find inspiration in nature, mythology, history and spirituality because these are topics close to my heart.
My pieces explore all aspects of life—human interactions, love, death and beauty—as well as social, cultural and political issues. The phenomena found in nature impress me again and again, and I try to capture their essence and grace in my drawings.
As you can see from my work, imagination and thought experiments also play a big role in my drawings.
My goal is that my artwork will provide an experience that will last for more than just minutes or seconds.
Most of my work has a deep meaning and lots of detail, which provides room for interpretation. I want people to discover the potential in my art and find their own sense from it. When I draw I want to make people think—think about what they see—and feel compelled to explore their own thoughts on what they have just seen. I love when people share their stories with me and what they see in my work.
