I was inspired to create this oil painting after watching my grandchildren play on the beach. My aim is to capture the moment, movement and memories in the hopes that others feel what I am feeling.

Since childhood, I’ve been mesmerized by the majestic fusion of bold colors that teeter between reality and fantasy. Only the magic of oils and acrylics allow me to attain this genuine freedom!

Color is my favorite emotion! The colors used in a painting tend to invoke an emotional response. Using watercolor, the paints work their way down the page to create an unexpected ending. I like that!

Listening to music stimulates my thoughts in terms of the way I use color and create a sense of rhythm; this compels the viewer to pay close attention to the textural qualities and symbolism.

Val Bisagni

My photographic style is slightly impressionistic; the result of being raised by one of the most prolific and talented artists I’ve ever known. My subject is Long Island, this wonderful island I’ve been exploring for 62-plus years.

 

 

Julia McMinn Evans

This painting was inspired by an old newspaper ad for a theatrical performance. Exciting colors, light and dark contrasts dance with mixed media inclusions that feature superlatives about the actors, orchestra and dramatic storylines.

 

 

Seb Pollington

My paintings use colour, vitality and strength to bring to life local landscape and cityscape settings. I focus on places I’ve visited, many in Italy; these make an impact and deserve to hang on the wall.

I created nine paintings for the #wearyourcrown ♥ campaign, a global call to action challenging women to join the movement, find their own unique voice, inner strength and power whilst raising funds for women in need.

 

 

Christine Davis

I create artworks intending to open the viewers’ eyes to the amazing colors and form that surrounds us, especially regarding seascapes. I am currently working on a series on the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia.

 

 

Sahar Hasan Al-louthai

Our lives intertwined with wildlife, and its echoes reverberate with the message to save them. The calligraphy, an extension of the earth and sky, represents the language of nature that we refuse to converse with.

 

 

Kris Scharfenberger

Being a calligrapher has inspired me to draw my contemporary images using India ink which creates a striking contrast with the vibrant colored pencils. This is the newest piece in my Happy Hour collection.

In my current “Location” series of paintings, I’ve found a love of solving geometry and creating a sense of place. I hope viewers of these paintings sense this, even if these aren’t places they have visited.

 

 

 

Midwest Wasteland

Midwest Wasteland is an artist duo composed of Jeffrey Kaya and Anthony Lagori that work in screen-printed media and sculpture. We tackle topics surrounding social interactions, norms and coming-of-age in the Heartland suburbs.

 

 

Kohlene Hendrickson

My art is expressive abstract figuration, exploring dimensionality, the human and cosmic of EROS. I pour colors intuitively and draw into the field, dancing between hazard and the edges of control as in life.

 

 

Victoria Clothier

This painting of the historic part of Bristol, where I was born, features its famous colourful houses along the harbour called Hotwells. I was inspired to paint this during the annual hot air balloon festival.

 

 

Heidi Minetti

I am a Danish artist who is inspired by the world of fantasy. Using texture and innovative techniques, I paint what I see and what I feel, using homemade paints I make from natural pigments.

 

 

Rickie Jacobs

I draw abstract geometric pen-and-ink drawings with alcohol-based colors. I believe that my drawings reflect an inner tension, but also generally express an overall sense of resolution through color, proportion and balance.

Todd Swart

As an artist, my job is to actively seek out beauty. Whether I’m looking at a dramatic mountain vista or a humble city sidewalk, I believe that beauty can be found anywhere.

I created this painting in oil impasto, using the palette knife technique. As a Colombian-American artist, I love to paint full of color and love.

These seashells are painted true to their original color, having collected them from all over the world. I am passionate about nature, color and being creative. My current work is mostly ocean themed.

In a Pink Mood expresses a happy, light mood. My paintings show strong color from a distance and intriguing details when viewed up close. Painting in a non-objective style allows freedom to explore endless ideas in paint.

 

 

John Waigand

Abstract color and line foster substance; an event. Elements and energy coalesce into movement and feeling—something dynamic. I try to tap into the possibilities lying beneath the surface of things and draw them forth.

This abstracted landscape and multi-layered painting is unique and evocative of the vibrant landscapes of my homeland of Scotland and the many wonderful places I have traveled to. My paintings become a visual journey of these experiences.
