I have designed and crafted bespoke luxury leather goods for over ten years. An engineer by trade, I am self-taught and found fascination in the art of leather working when needing a belt during my college years. I decided to make one myself.

I’ve always admired craftsmen and women who work with their hands. Tailors, painters, horologists, and shoemakers are just a few who have been heavily influential in my life. From restoring an old Schwinn 10-speed bicycle as a teenager to building my first outdoor sofa sectional as a young adult, my love for working with my hands greatly influenced my decision to gravitate toward what I love most. I just did not know that leather and exotics would be where life would take me.

The art of saddle-stitching and learning how a leather product is made, without any machinery, was most intriguing. Using only leather, a needle and thread, some bag hardware and a few leather working tools, I decided to continue my research. I perused books and YouTube, while attempting hands-on trial and error practices. Now I am the sole bespoke artisan with Beau Satchelle and have created every piece to date.

My product designs reflect inspiration from silhouettes of buildings, automobiles, yachts and nature’s landscapes, foliage and living creatures. I use different textures of raw materials and experiment with tensile strength based on the type of product being made. Ending up with something functional and fashionable is experiential science all by itself. Although it can be a tedious and repetitive process, the joy I receive when a client is satisfied with the finished product is priceless.

I create prototypes and have an eclectic portfolio. My mission is to start a conversation to bring out ideas one may have not considered when looking for a wearable item.

My work is about creating a dream piece. Each one is crafted as a one-off and has no duplicate. Individually constructed with a life of its own, each piece showcases the finest leathers. They are adorned with carefully selected hardware that complements the overall character. In case of someone wants a piece from the collection, I can build that same design with different exterior and interior colors. No two pieces ever have the same color combination.

My collection consist of wallets, tie cases, portfolios, wine tasting journals, handbags, sports bags, briefcases, wine cases and most accessories that can be visualized and created with leather.

All of the leathers and exotic skins I acquire are legally and ethically sourced from the top tanneries around the world. I maintain high eco-friendly standards with water-based adhesives and lean more toward natural metals, (copper, brass and silver) for hardware selection. This results in all-natural heirloom quality luxury goods.

My interest is to design simplistic and traditional handbags, because I believe simple is the most beautiful. However, I do not duplicate current products established from previous and existing artists. Instead, I design and build unique, desirable and sustainable works of art to stand the test of time.
