I’ve been painting for nearly 35 years. My earliest childhood memory of loving to be “with the paint” has always been present and apparent in my life.
I feel blessed while reflecting upon a satisfying, sometimes challenging life journey. It included a happy childhood, love, faith, generosity, marriage, parenting, sorrow, entrepreneurship, corporate life, painting, and so much more.
Throughout the whole of it I’ve always been fully aware that preserving and honoring that early childhood desire regarding “the paint” was a must for me!
My appetite and inspiration for painting with a rich intimate sense of color has been nurtured by travel, nature, and cultural exposure to the global arts. The abundance of these color-filled and often unique experiences has fostered and nurtured my years as a successful artist.
I’ve had a thirst for continuing art education, workshops, mentors, residencies, and exhibition inclusions throughout my painting years. I’m forever indebted to my followers, clients and curators who “get the gratitude” in my work. Those who love the infusion of color sometimes somber, sometimes ebullient, have purchased or juried my work over the years in oil, acrylic, watercolor and encaustic mediums.
Samples of my latest acrylics collection featured here, for release in 2025–The Abundance Collection–is being painted now in my Williamsburg, Virginia studio. Joy, intellectual challenge, and the sheer fulfillment of working with paint surround me on canvas, panels, walls and easels.
I relish my own creations, of course, but the work of other artists and organizations remain important to my life as an artist and as a lover of art. With all of my sales I contribute a percentage of the net dollars to another artist, artist group, or organization. Sometimes the organization or artist is thriving and sometimes it needs the boost of unexpected funding. My contributions are symbolic yet tangible signs of my thanksgiving for the blessing of “being with the paint” has brought to my life.
I welcome questions and interactions on line or in person regarding how art has enriched my life and/or yours. I’ve seldom met another artist or would be patron that I didn’t consider a friend!
