“Poppies at Sunset” acrylic on canvas, 20″ x 20″
I am a painter, but I am also an interior architect and designer. I have always believed that interior space design is an experiential event in someone’s life that affects their moods and emotions. Bringing nature into a space, in the form of artwork, is one of the best ways to connect with people’s emotions.

“Afternoon in the Garden” acrylic on canvas, 30″ x 48″
I aim to capture the essence of nature, specifically with meadow and garden flowers. Not just their physical appearance, but also the emotions they evoke. I tend to paint flowers and other flora in a more abstract illustrative style. I focus on capturing the colors, light, movement, flow, and wind seen in nature rather than realistic detail.

“Dancing Petals” acrylic on canvas, 36″ x 60″
Many of my paintings include poppies, cosmos, lilies, grasses and daisies. They are whimsical and happy and very recognizable to people. Many of these flowers are tall and really have a presence in meadows and wild gardens, to which I am attracted. I try to create paintings in which the viewer feels like they are part of the meadow. It’s as if they are physically immersed in the vitality of the life-giving force of the flowers.

“Wheat Field” acrylic on canvas, 20″ x 20″
The upward-reaching stems and buds suggest growth and vitality, further reinforcing the sense of life, energy, and joy. It is as if the flora is more than alive, and sprouting off the canvas, growing, emitting energy for the viewer to absorb.

“Morning Light” acrylic on canvas, 30″ x 48″
I am also specifically attracted to the special sunlight that we see in the morning. I am drawn to the potential that every new day may bring, and the feeling of being in the moment with the morning sounds, smells, light, and color.

“Tiger Lilies” acrylic on canvas, 20″ x 20″
I try to capture this in the brushstrokes, the capture of light, color and movement. I want the the painting to provide an overall sense of wellbeing and hope for a brand-new day.

“White Drops 1″ acrylic on canvas, 12″ x 12”
My studio is a sanctuary where I lose myself in the world of colors and textures. Each piece I create is a labor of love. I believe that art has the power to transform the human spirit, and am grateful to have the opportunity to share that transformation with the world.
