“Contentment” encaustic monotype collage, 24” x 36”
The balance between intuition and precision fascinates me—the way creative expression can be both fluid and intentional. As an encaustic printmaker and collage artist, I work in that space where spontaneity meets structure, blending right-brain imagination with left-brain composition. My process is a conversation between control and release, layering pigmented beeswax and paper into forms that feel both grounded and free.

“Interwoven Paths” 3D mixed media wall sculpture, 17.5” x 63”
Encaustic printmaking is the heart of my practice, a medium that feels alive in my hands. There’s something magical about the way warmed pigmented wax responds to pressure and touch—how it captures movement in a single moment. No two prints are ever the same, which makes the process both exhilarating and deeply meditative.

“Paths Yet Untaken” 3D encaustic wall sculpture, 16” x 10”
I love pressing paper onto the warm palette, lifting away an impression that can never be fully replicated. That sense of discovery carries through to my collage work and sculptural pieces, where I weave together monotypes, mark- making, and photographs to build something new from layers of memory and texture.

“Peel” encaustic monotype collage, 12” x 12”
Much of my inspiration comes from the shifting landscapes around me. The ripple of water, the talk of wind, the soft glow of sky against earth. I’m drawn to the colors, rhythms, and quiet transformations found in water, earth, and sky—not as something to replicate, but as something to respond to.

“Midnight Storm” 3D encaustic wall sculpture, 21” x 26”
My Weathered Vignettes series captures this sense of movement and change through layered compositions on paper. My Suspended Forms series transforms encaustic paintings on encaustiflex into sculptural pieces that shift and breathe with their surroundings. Their edges curl and fold like waves or windblown leaves.

“New Direction” encaustic monotype collage, 24” x 36”
I create my work in my home-based studio in Port Townsend, Washington. It is a coastal town on the Olympic Peninsula about two hours from Seattle. Nestled between waterways, beaches, and miles of forested trails, this area is a constant source of inspiration.

“Soaring” 3D encaustic wall sculpture, 30” x 42”
The fresh air, ever-changing light and quiet rhythm of the tides fuel my creative process. It allows me to work in a space that is both a personal retreat and a teaching studio.

“Waves to Shore” 3D mixed media wall sculpture, 38” x 33”
Beyond my own studio practice, I’m passionate about expanding how people experience encaustic work. I want to challenge expectations of what this medium can do—how it can hold texture, capture energy, and even create a sense of presence.

“Moon River” encaustic monotype collage, 11” x 17”
Whether through exhibitions, teaching, or conversations about process, I love sharing the possibilities of encaustic printmaking with others. At its core, my work is about connection—between movement and stillness, between past and present, between the seen and unseen. In a world that often moves too fast, I hope my work offers a moment to pause, to notice, and to feel. Art, for me, isn’t just about what we see. It’s about what we sense, what we remember, and what lingers long after we’ve walked away.
