“Lets Chat” acrylic on cradle board, 16″ x 16″

My journey as an artist began years ago, but like many, life pulled me in different directions. After retiring in 2015, I rediscovered my passion for painting. It has been a transformative and joyful adventure ever since.

painting of a little bird with vintage still life

“Remembered Moments” acrylic on cradle board, 9″ x 7″

I primarily work with acrylics—a medium I’ve come to love despite its fast drying time and steep learning curve. Over the years, I’ve developed a technique that lets me focus on the fine details. That allows me to create a sense of realism while maintaining simplicity in composition.

“Memories of Nan” acrylic on cradle board, 8″x 8″

My paintings are often inspired by the birds that visit my garden. I pair them with vintage or everyday objects that evoke a sense of nostalgia. Each piece tells a story, blending nature’s elegance with human history in a way that feels timeless yet playful.

painting of two birds and jar of bubblegum

“Bubblegum Blues” acrylic on cradle board, 10″ x 10″

For me, birds represent freedom, resilience, and beauty. These are qualities I aim to reflect in my work. Whether it’s a chickadee perched on a mason jar filled with bubblegum or a cardinal resting on an antique camera, I love exploring the interplay between delicate, organic elements and carefully chosen objects. These juxtapositions create a narrative that invites viewers to pause, smile, and reminisce.

“Come Over for Tea” acrylic on cradle board, 12″ x 12″

My goal as an artist is to evoke a personal connection in those who view my work. I want my paintings to do more than decorate a space; I hope they bring joy, spark memories, and inspire wonder.

Whether you’re drawn to the intricate details of a bird’s feathers or the whimsical charm of a teacup balanced just so, I strive to create pieces that resonate with the heart.
