I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela and came home to the USA in 1984.

The pandemic changed everything. It became a time of deep reflection, silence, discovery and unexpected clarity. Without any academic, formal or training in the arts, I discovered a side of me, an art streak I didn’t know existed. Facing a new sense of self, challenges and doubts in tow, I began to emerge as an abstract artist with a style that is organic, free, and deeply intuitive. My work comes from a place of emotion, a blend of feelings and energy as each piece is a reflection of what I’m experiencing at the moment.

During the pandemic, my art became an escape. It was a way to process everything that was happening in the world around me. It was my way of staying grounded when everything felt uncertain. As I started sharing my work with others, those who viewed my art saw something in it: reflections of new perceptions and interpretations of the abstract reality we were all dealing with, reflections of their own feelings and stories. It was then I realized that I create art that doesn’t just hang on a wall, but rather art that speaks to viewers in unique ways.

Music is my muse and always at the heart of my creative process. Music is the pulse that guides me and drives it. Each artwork has its own song, soundtrack or piece of music that is playing in the background when creating it. It’s also a way for the viewer to have a special connection not only with my artwork but with me, knowing what I was listening to when creating the piece.

I feel my way through my creative process. Each stroke of paint is a new discovery, a new caption in my life as an artist. I want viewers to look at my artwork and find something they recognize that could find a place in their lives and that also speak to their own experiences.

There’s a sense of freedom in the way I create. Making a mistake or second guessing myself are just happy accidents. Not worrying about how it’s supposed to look is very liberating. It’s all about expressing what’s inside me in whatever form it takes. Everything is instinctual.

Art, to me, is a conversation—a dialogue between the viewer and the artwork, and by extension a conversation with me. It’s also about creating a space where we can reflect, feel, discover and experience art itself, allowing even no making sense of it. That is also valid. I want my art to be an exploration that resonates in a way that’s deeply personal yet shared with others.

My artwork is constantly evolving, but it’ll always stay true to my feelings and emotions whatever they might be. The work will forever be driven by music, by intuition. My art will always be a reflection of my stories and, I dare to dream, a reflection of yours! You have an open invitation to explore my artwork with me.
