Ever since I could dream and use my hands I dreamed of, drew and sculpted horses. As a child, animals mesmerized me and I communicated with them naturally. Some say I have a gift and that I see and feel what others do not.

During my childhood, I attended art classes and always loved drawing. I graduated with a graphic arts degree in 1989. I was also a professional illustrator, mastering digital art and computer graphics since its very beginning, while not forgetting traditional mediums. I focused mainly on characters and animals, from hyperrealistic illustrations to more simple art for youth projects.

Horses have shared all my adult life, and I thrive on capturing their beauty, sensitivity and strength as well as the deep connection I have developed with them. Wild, authentic and free is the way I choose to portray them. Gifted by a wild imagination, I sometimes delve into the supernatural with subjects like winged horses, an occasional dragon, marine creature or a surrealistic concept.

Oil painting and flame working are my primary focus. Working with the torch is extremely challenging technically and physically, but also very rewarding. The fascination of contemplating the orange glass dancing in the flame is just as addictive as the clarity and luminescence of the finished piece. Painting really fulfills my heart, and I love the fact that I can spend more time, paint intricate details, and actually interact manually with the medium. Every painting starts with a freehand drawing directly on the canvas and I build details from there. Drawing remains a true passion for me.

Constantly training, studying anatomy, movement and biomechanics, new techniques, either with renowned glass artists such as Luccio Bubacco and Emilio Santini, or through online courses, DVD, books and research, I am in constant evolution. In order to achieve the level of detail I wanted for my glass sculptures, I had to develop my own personal techniques. All my work involves thorough research as well as gesture drawing, mostly executed with my own horses while sitting in the field. Being a very passionate person, I constantly challenge myself and love trying new things.
