My art answers to the mystical forces of nature. My studio is filled with music where ideas and feelings form and magic occurs, stretching my canvas. It’s an emotional engagement with exhilaration emerging from a clear canvas.
I am a nature lover. My artistic inspiration comes from nature—it’s magic and its beauty. I create to connect with my audience by painting something that makes me, and I hope others, happy to look at.
My found- assemblages merge experimentation and happenstance with careful planning and design, resulting in unique works of intrigue and whimsy. Viewers are drawn in to discover materials and ponder possible motives and narratives.
Abstract paintings are my invitation to a conversation. Favoring bold color, rich textures and energetic movement, I hope my work sparks a dialogue about the impressions and emotions created for each person who sees it.
Pushing the boundaries beyond traditional portraiture, I convey both strength and vulnerability in my subjects. My inspiration often comes from the news, questioning ideas about gender, race and beauty.
My work explores and exposes environmental issues of our time. I strive to find a way to end one-time-use packaging by turning cardboard and other packing materials into works of art.
This painting was inspired by the colors of dusk. I use acrylics and unconventional tools to create texture, blurring the line between painting and sculpture and adding layers of color that create luminous, dreamlike effects.
I am inspired by the infinite nature of creativity and growth. My works combine conscientious color palette selection and intuitive mark making and my composition is influenced by decades of professional content creation.
The pandemic canceled the traditional Mardi Gras parade, but New Orleanians still managed to celebrate Fat Tuesday by decorating their homes. This painting honors their ingenuity at turning a dark time into a celebration.
I am basically a wildlife artist, working in watercolor and acrylic. I have always been inspired by nature and wildlife.
I paint to protest what damages we inflict on our earth and ourselves (social injustice, racism, climate crisis, armed conflicts) and celebrate the goodness in us (love, friendship, community, science, innovation) in my naive style.
My paintings are a continuation of watercolor landscape tradition with contemporary expression. Loose representation, abstract elements and negative space create a place of refuge for contemplation of our relationship to the natural world.
NYC born, I became a bartender after college, then owned a few restaurants. I befriended Kurt Vonnegut and artist Nickademus Hufford who made me an art museum junkie. Museums were my “escape from New York.”
“Twilight” is an expression of my deep longing for interconnectedness with the all-pervasive and eternally present nature. I find my artistic voice when I camouflage my existence with the deep, mystic realms of nature.
This painting is part of a series which includes two elements that I feel are beautiful and justifiably go together. The photos of nebulas taken by the Hubble telescope and ballet dancers. They are unity of form.
I’ve always had an inner need to respond to life with visual expressions. “Bountiful Garden” reflects my fascination with the teeming life—plant and animal—that thrives in the Sonoran Desert where I now reside.
I am passionate about creating beautiful art that will make someone’s day feel lighter and brighter. In my creative process, I aspire for my art to be simple in design yet full of meaning.
My mixed media collage combines photographs, material, sewing and paper, with acrylic or oil paint. I strive to combine realism and abstraction. This piece is a portrait I did when coming out of Covid lockdown.
I paint large scale paintings inspired by the concept of navigation of the world and life itself. I am fascinated with transmuting the ordinary into the extraordinary in my unrelenting quest for true north.
I am a Canadian contemporary painter, speaker and mentor. My mixed media artworks explore the dichotomies within our urban and rural environments, always searching for moments of unity, peacefulness and inspiration.
My sculpture and installation work is informed by the ties and lies between history, science and culture. My materials of choice are bowling balls, roofing tar paper, objects of enigmatic origin and gravity.
I transform mostly overlooked, everyday plant foods into objects of art using macro photography and a variety of mediums including digital manipulation, acrylics, gel mediums and plaster.
In my paintings, I capture and record what I feel exists. I use unique codes to describe the structure of the visual elements and the products of interaction among them that escape our direct perception.
