Born in Philadelphia, I began my journey in art with a BFA in painting from the Philadelphia College of Art. This was followed by a MA in art education from Kean College in New Jersey. My studies expanded in New York City. I honed my skills in graphic design and silkscreen printing at the School of Visual Arts. This training not only enriched my technical expertise, but also provided a foundation for my exploration of form, color, and composition, shaping my distinctive artistic approach.

 

 

I am a Manhattan-based artist. My work is represented in museums, private and corporate collections. It has been featured in many exhibitions. These include solo shows in New York such as Equity Gallery, National Arts Club, Rockefeller Gallery, New York Studio Gallery, James Beard House, Interchurch Center, Blue Hill Plaza, Adelante Gallery, and Speakeasy Gallery in New Jersey.

 

 

A selection of group gallery shows in New York City includes Bortolami, 440 Gallery, Van der Plas, Curate NYC, Blue Mountain, Prince Street, Dacia, Equity. Kaller Fine Arts in Washington, DC. George Segal, and Riverside Gallery in New Jersey and Zullo Gallery in Massachusetts.

From the lofty heights of high-rise buildings and helicopters, my work offers a glimpse into the intricate tapestry of cities, towns, factories, farmlands, and suburban enclaves. They are all presented through a distinctive lens that transforms the mundane into the unique.

 

 

With each brushstroke, I craft a modern narrative. I want to encourage viewers to appreciate the overlooked structures of our world with a renewed vision. It inspires us all to elevate our perspective and see the beauty that surrounds us from an entirely new angle.

 

 

Using compositions, there is a journey of discovery. My work urges us to engage with our surroundings in a deeper, more meaningful way. It encourages you to explore the vibrant details and colors within my paintings and be transported into the unique stories told by each piece.

 

 

The flattened plane reduces details to strong graphic images. More than just a recording of the contemporary landscape, my paintings are my own interpretation of the essence of these scenes. They combine elements of abstraction and representation, pattern and grid, surface, and illusion, as well as observation, imagination, and memory. My work can be understood on many levels, from the simple interplay of shape and color to the narrative of the pictorial story.
